Hillcrest Christian College  we have a desire to support student development through the various phases of learning.  Programs such as Kindy, Prep, ECHO (Each Child Has Opportunity – gifted and talented), Learning Support and Middle Years aim to meet the needs of students as they are initially introduced to schooling and then develop through Primary to Secondary levels.

We endeavour to develop discernment in our students within an environment that reflects real life situations.  There are opportunities to practise problem-solving and decision-making skills in a supportive and accepting community.  Our teachers encourage discussion about real life issues and foster a proactive approach to becoming actively involved with our community.

We recognise that each child is precious and unique individual created in the image of God and valuable to Him.  Our aim is to foster the development of character through modelling and demonstrating Biblical truths.  We believe that children need recognition and acceptance, social competencies, emotional resilience and an understanding of their worth in God.  We encourage our students to take responsibility for their actions, attitudes and values when dealing with others, while maintaining relationships with those around them.

Our students come from diverse backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles, bringing with them a range of knowledge and experiences that influence their interaction and involvement within the community.  We therefore aim to know our students well in order to recognise and encourage the development of their gifts and talents.  We employ strategies which will assist them to reach for their potential.  Our programs are differentiated and centred around the strengths and needs of our students, both individually and collectively, in all facets of development (spiritual, social, emotional, academic and physical).  Our teachers work as a team and with families to effectively meet individual needs.
