Cognitive Ability
A measure of cognitive functioning is required for entrance into the full-time gifted programs. The College considers students with the following results of cognitive ability:
• Individual IQ composite score >130.
A full cognitive assessment using Stanford-Binet V or IV; or Weshcler. Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC IV) is preferred. The Slosson Intelligence Test (SIT-R) is used by gifted education co-ordinator in absence of psychologist administered, cognitive assessment.
• Structure of the Intellect (SOI): composite score (TSS) > 180, 9th stanine; top 3% giftedness.
• Ravens Progressional Matrices: 90th percentile and above.
