Years 8 and 9 

All students in Middle Years Secondary study four core major subjects and two elective subjects:

Core Subjects
•  English and Studies of Society and Environment (integrated)
•  Mathematics and Science (integrated where appropriate)

Elective Subjects
• Art
• Dance (Year 9 only)
• Technology Studies
• Drama
• French
• Graphics
• Health & Physical Education
• Home Economics
• Music

In addition, two minor subjects are also incorporated into their timetable:
•  Christian Living
•  Personal Development

The Middle Years Secondary course seeks to provide students with a solid grounding in Maths, Science, English and SOSE. Classes in these four core subjects may be streamed according to student aptitude and ability. Each semester Year 8 students engage in two electives (a total of four over the year). 

Year 9 students consolidate with one two electives for the whole year.

An emphasis is made on students discovering and developing their gifts and abilities. This will guide them in their choice of subjects for Senior Secondary Prep (Year 10).
