The College has a Student Counsellor  who provides counselling for the times when students are having difficulties with family, friends, school work or life in general.  Programmes are also available to help students develop effective ways to deal with life’s challenges. 

The Student Counsellor does not perform formal assessments of academic ability (cognitive assessments) and students requiring these services will be referred to a Registered Psychologist.  The Student Counsellor may also refer parents and students to mental health professionals and community organisations who offer specialist services. 

Secondary students can make an appointment to see the Student Counsellor at Secondary Reception. Primary students can be referred to the counsellor through their class teacher.  Parents wishing to make an appointment to meet with our Student Counsellor, can email Jocelyn Twyford directly on JTwyford@hillcrest.qld.edu.au or via the main reception office.
